HOG Social — Terms of Use

Effective date: August 24, 2026 · Version: 2026-08-24

These Terms govern your use of HOG Social (hogsocial.com and the HOG Social mobile applications). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Ads Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Independence notice. HOG Social is an independent community service. "Harley-Davidson", "H.O.G.", "Harley Owners Group" and related marks are trademarks of Harley-Davidson Motor Company. HOG Social is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by Harley-Davidson, and chapter data shown in the Service is maintained by the community.

Third-party brands. The Service may reference other companies and brands — for example EagleRider Motorcycle Rentals & Tours — in posts, events, sponsor campaigns, and informational content. Unless expressly stated, HOG Social is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by EagleRider or any other brand referenced on the Service. All logos, trademarks, and brand names are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and reference purposes only.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older and hold (or be applying under) a valid Harley Owners Group membership. You must provide accurate membership information — membership ID and expiration date — and keep it current. Chapter officers verify this information; registration with an expired membership is refused, and if your membership lapses after joining, your chapter's officers may notify you and deactivate your account if it is not renewed. You are responsible for your password and for activity on your account. One account per person.

2. Chapters, roles, and moderation

Chapters are member communities with officers. Officers approve membership and follow requests, plan activities, and moderate their chapter. Officers with member-management permission may remove a member's post with a stated reason communicated to the author, deactivate lapsed memberships, and block followers. Comments may be deleted only by their author. We may act at the platform level against content or accounts that violate these Terms.

2a. Personal timelines

Every rider may post to their own personal timeline, visible to their followers or to everyone, independent of chapter membership. Personal timelines are moderated by the HOG Social platform team, not by chapter officers: the platform may remove timeline content that violates these Terms and may suspend repeat offenders. The same content standards (§4), copyright rules (§3), and video review policy apply to timeline posts. You are solely responsible for what you publish on your timeline.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of what you post. You grant HOG Social a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service (for example, showing your post to your chapter, generating previews, or serving it through a CDN). The license ends when the content is deleted, except for cached copies and records kept for legal or audit purposes. Only post content you have the right to share — including the likenesses of people in photos.

Copyright and video content. You must own, or hold a license for, everything you upload — including the video footage itself, any music, broadcast, or third-party clips inside it. Uploading content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights is prohibited. Video uploads are limited to accountable parties (chapter managers and approved sponsors), and every uploaded video may be reviewed by the platform team for compliance with these Terms and the Ads Policy. We remove infringing content when we become aware of it, honor substantiated takedown notices (legal@hogsocial.com), and may suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe.

4. Acceptable use — zero tolerance

You agree not to: post unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content; threaten or incite violence; impersonate others or misrepresent a HOG membership; post others' private information without consent; infringe copyrights or trademarks; spam, scrape, or access the Service by automated means; probe or disrupt the Service's security; use the Service while operating a motorcycle; or encourage riding that is unlawful or impaired. Content celebrating rides is welcome; content glorifying reckless or impaired riding is not.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on HOG Social. Every rider can flag any post or comment (the ⋯ menu → Report) and block any rider; flagged content disappears from the reporter's feed immediately and blocking is instant, mutual invisibility. The platform team reviews every report within 24 hours and removes content that violates these terms; users who post objectionable content or abuse others are ejected from the Service. Reports and blocks are confidential.

5. Following, messaging, and blocking

Follow requests to chapters require officer approval. Rider-to-rider follows are instant. You may block any rider whose content you can see — from their profile or directly from a post; blocking is mutual invisibility, is not disclosed to the blocked rider, and notifies the platform team when done from a post. Do not use messaging for harassment or commercial solicitation.

6. Copyright complaints

Send infringement notices meeting the requirements of applicable law (e.g., DMCA) to copyright@hogsocial.com. We remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers' accounts.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, present safety risks, or hold lapsed HOG memberships (after notice, per §1). Sections 3–4 and 8–10 survive termination.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Rides and activities listed on the Service are organized by chapters and members — you participate at your own risk; HOG Social does not organize, supervise, or insure rides and is not responsible for what happens on them. Routes, maps, and event details may be inaccurate; ride within the law and your limits.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HOG Social and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service; our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

10. Indemnity, governing law, changes

You will indemnify HOG Social against claims arising from your content or your violation of these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms; material changes require renewed in-app acceptance, and the version above will change. Questions: legal@hogsocial.com.
