HOG Social — Advertising & Sponsorship Policy
Effective date: July 27, 2026 · Version: 2026-07-27
This policy governs any sponsor, dealership, or partner ("Sponsor") that publishes, syndicates, or sponsors content on HOG Social, and explains to members how advertising works on the Service.
Third-party brands. Brands referenced on the Service — including EagleRider and any other company named in posts, events, or campaigns — are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by HOG Social unless expressly stated. All logos, trademarks, and brand names are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and reference purposes only.
1. Who may advertise
Sponsorship is open to motorcycle dealerships (including chapter-sponsoring dealerships), riding-gear and service brands, event organizers, and other partners approved in writing by HOG Social. We may refuse or remove any Sponsor at our discretion. Sponsors must comply with these rules, the Terms of Use, and all applicable advertising laws (including the FTC's disclosure requirements and their local equivalents).
2. Labeling — no disguised ads
All paid or sponsored content must be clearly labeled "Sponsored" and visually distinguishable from member posts. Sponsors may not pose as members, run undisclosed endorsements, or pay members to post without disclosure. Syndicated content (ads served from a Sponsor's own system) must carry the same labeling and pass the same content review.
3. Member data — the hard rule
Sponsors receive no personal data. No names, membership IDs, contact details, message content, location history, or individual browsing behavior — ever. Ad placement may use only contextual and aggregate signals (for example: shown to members of chapters in Texas, or alongside touring-related content). Sponsors may receive aggregate performance metrics only (impressions, taps). Third-party tracking pixels, SDKs, device fingerprinting, and data brokers are prohibited on the Service.
4. Content standards
Intellectual property. Sponsors warrant that they own or have licensed every element of their creative — footage, images, music, logos, and trademarks — and will indemnify HOG Social against claims arising from their content. Every campaign, and every video in particular, is reviewed before going live and may be re-reviewed or removed at any time if a copyright or infringement concern arises.
Sponsored content must be truthful, substantiated, and lawful. Prohibited: content that pairs alcohol with riding or depicts impaired or reckless riding; tobacco, vaping, and recreational drugs; weapons and ammunition; adult content; gambling (except where licensed and legal in the targeted region, with age gating); political and issue advertising; multi-level marketing and get-rich schemes; counterfeit goods; and claims of affiliation with Harley-Davidson or H.O.G.® without proof of authorization. Restricted: alcohol brands may advertise only where legal and only with responsible-riding messaging that never implies drinking and riding; safety claims about protective gear must be certified (e.g., DOT/ECE).
5. Placement and member experience
Ads never appear inside direct or group messages, membership approval flows, or safety communications. Frequency is capped so feeds remain member-first. Members may report any ad; reported ads are re-reviewed. Chapter officers may additionally decline sponsor placements scoped to their own chapter's feed.
6. Syndication requirements
Sponsors syndicating creatives from external systems must serve them over HTTPS from approved domains, without executable third-party scripts, cookies, or tracking parameters, and honor takedown requests within 24 hours. HOG Social may cache, resize, or reformat creatives for display.
7. Enforcement and liability
We may reject, pause, or remove any ad and suspend Sponsors for violations, with or without refund depending on the violation. Sponsors are solely responsible for their content and indemnify HOG Social against claims arising from it. Ad publication does not constitute endorsement by HOG Social or by any chapter.
